Born in late 1950's and early 1960's, we have seen the change from typewriters to word processors, then cumbersome, boxy computers with actual floppy discs and a wild west internet that was like spaghetti thrown against the wall. We are accustomed to a landline and people who respect dinnertime and do not call after 6 pm, unless it's an emergency. We miss the days of fine stationary and penmanship and waiting for a letter from a beau and sending one that is scented. We have stories worth telling, recipes that ought not to die out, a love of culture in music and dance and art. We believe in pride of ownership and the exterior of the many homes we've owned and even rented have been tidy and made our neighborhood beautiful. We believe in police and veterans, mom and apple pie. We are the "new 60" and we have a lot of living left to do and those many years of doing for others now gives us the right to a spa day, now and then and assistance in daily tasks, and someone else keeping track of investments and bills, for we balanced our checkbook by hand to the penny, for many years. Cultural exhibits, fascinating books that describe places and people from all over the world still delight us, as do movies. This site will be the repository for our wisdom and inspire those in their 60's PLUS to be their best selves to date!
